AccelerateAB Startup Advising

 

AccelerateAB, the grassroots technology conference that has grown into one of the largest innovation showcases in Western Canada, has revealed the eight Alberta startups selected to participate in the prestigious Startup Advising Sessions for 2020.

“The Startup Advising Sessions have always been a major catalyst to creating powerful momentum and connections for our province’s technology companies,” says Tamara Woolgar, Executive Director of The A100, the organization behind AccelerateAB. “The startups will learn from some of the most experienced entrepreneurs in Alberta, an advantage that has proven time and time again to accelerate them towards achieving their own success.”

The selected companies will participate in storytelling and scaling workshops, pitch coaching sessions and customized 1:1 workshops. They will also have the opportunity to pitch their startup to more than 500 AccelerateAB attendees in Edmonton on April 20-21.

The startups selected for the 2020 Startup Advising Sessions are (in alphabetical order):

  • AGvisorPro: AGvisorPRO uses a proprietary matching algorithm to provide instantaneous connectivity between producers and agricultural experts to immediately solve their problems.

  • Curiocity: Curiocity is one of Canada’s leading digital publishers and advertisers, focusing on lifestyle and entertainment in five major metropolitan areas across Canada and into the U.S.

  • FRENT: FRENT is an AI enabled online platform that adopts a FAAS (Furniture As-a-Service) business model. It offers affordable, stylish and customized furniture for rent on flexible monthly subscription plans.

  • Goodlawyer: Goodlawyer matches entrepreneurs and freelancers with affordable, on-demand legal help.

  • NDAX: National Digital Asset Exchange Inc. (NDAX) is a Canadian-based digital asset exchange that allows individuals and institutions to buy and sell Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in a safe and compliant manner.

  • Nicerr: Nicerr is a platform that enables people to get high quality professional advice from business leaders and subject matter experts by contributing to charities of the experts’ choice.

  • Sawback Technologies: Sawback Technologies has developed a proprietary solution to remotely collect data, visualize and analyze sub-surface data over wide areas and/or complex environments.

  • Wyvern: Wyvern’s DragonEye payload combined with a hyperspectral imager and a constellation of satellites allows them to deliver the exact data farmers need for actionable insights about their crops.
